Method

Burger Buns
  • Begining
    In a bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm milk + water. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add flour, salt, egg, and softened butter. Knead into a soft dough.
  • Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
  • Divide dough into 6 equal pieces, shape into balls, and place on a baking tray.
  • Let rest 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  • Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown. Cool before slicing.
Beef Patties
  • In a bowl, gently mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and optional seasonings.
  • Form 6 equal patties, slightly wider than the buns (they’ll shrink during cooking).
  • Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil.
  • Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side for medium, adding cheese in the last minute to melt.
Assembling Burgers
  • Toast bun halves lightly on a pan or grill.
  • Spread sauces of your choice on the bun bottoms.
  • Add lettuce, patty with melted cheese, tomato, onion, and pickles.
  • Top with bun lid and serve immediately.
